UBC's menstrual equity group rebrands to better serve menstruators
The menstrual advocacy group, Period UBC, has announced its rebranding as Free Periods Canada Foundation. The name change reflects the group's intention to widen its focus and advocacy beyond menstrual issues and towards more inclusive and comprehensive reproductive and sexual health.Free Periods Canada Foundation aims to continue its work in promoting menstrual equity and education while also addressing broader issues such as menstrual stigma, gender-inclusive menstruation, and access to menstrual supplies. The rebranding comes after the group held a town hall meeting earlier this year to gather feedback and ideas from the community on how they can better serve and represent all students at UBC.
