Youth Service Providers - ME101

ME101 is a free, virtual, educational program for youth service workers
The ‘Menstrual equity 101/Equité menstruelle 101’ (ME101) program, consists of a live 90-minute virtual workshop, and access to three self-paced courses hosted on an innovative digital learning hub called CHARMS. This program has been designed for and implemented among youth service providers (such as teachers, counsellors, sexual health educators, peer educators, coaches etc.) in Canada.

The ME101 program is designed to address menstrual stigma and period poverty involves an 'upstream approach', empowering individuals who engage with youth to incorporate menstrual equity into their everyday work. The education program integrates a live workshop and a self-paced course component, ensuring that our programming establishes a strong foundation while remaining adaptable for continued learning.

Menstrual Health and Equity Workshops

Menstrual Equity 101 (ME101) is an interactive, engaging workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to drive change in your community. In this dynamic session, participants will gain a deep understanding of period poverty and explore how social identities intersect to create unique challenges for marginalized groups. We’ll also delve into the powerful connection between menstrual health, stigma, and period poverty and how these issues affect individuals and communities at large.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:
  • Develop the tools and language to confidently navigate conversations about menstruation and advocate for menstrual equity in the communities you support
  • Take part in activities which help participants acquire practical skills to become a more informed, impactful advocates for menstrual equity
  • Receive an ME101 digital certificate to showcase your newfound expertise!
This intro workshop is a great option for anyone who wants to (re)familiarize themselves with the basics of menstrual equity, to become an informed menstruator or ally, and strengthen your knowledge as a youth service provider, educator, or advocate!

Researchers

Menstrual Equity 102 (ME102) equips educators and youth service providers with the tools, activities, and resources needed to effectively teach youth about menstrual equity. The goal of this workshop is to build capacity among those working with young people, enabling them to confidently deliver meaningful lessons and engage in informed, impactful discussions about menstrual health. While ME101 provides a foundational understanding of menstrual health, stigma, and period poverty, ME102 takes a deeper, more hands-on approach, exploring the various dimensions of menstrual equity in greater detail.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:
  • Be equipped to engage youth in informed, constructive discussions on menstruation using activities from the workshop.
  • Have a deeper understanding of and ability to articulate intersectionality in relation to menstrual health, strengthened through interactive activities
  • Explore ways your workplace can contribute to and participate in menstrual equity efforts.
  • Earn an ME102 digital certificate to showcase your newfound expertise!
This workshop is a great option for anyone who has a strong understanding of menstrual equity and wants to learn new ways to apply and share their knowledge.
