The Workshop Facilitator will design and deliver engaging menstrual equity workshops in both virtual and in-person settings, creating inclusive and stigma-free learning environments.
The workshop facilitator will be responsible for:
- Facilitating engaging and interactive workshops on menstrual equity in virtual and in-person settings
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stigma-free learning environment for participants of all genders and backgrounds.
- Adapt the facilitation style to the audience and their learning preferences.
- Use interactive teaching methods (discussion, activities, storytelling, multimedia tools).
- Manage virtual workshop logistics, including breakout rooms, polls, and chat management.
- Conducting research to inform the development of new workshop content
- Support the design of learning outcomes and piloting process for new topics
- Supporting the management of workshop-related communications
- Engage with participants before, during, and after workshops to support questions, communication, and overall learning experience.
- Coordinate with organizational staff to align messaging and outreach efforts.
- Supporting learning and educational material development by creating, updating, and improving workshop content, handouts, activities, and digital resources.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure educational materials are inclusive and culturally sensitive.

About Free Periods Canada:
We are on a mission to make menstrual health equitable in Canada. We research to inform and support advocacy work for menstrual equity, connect people and advocacy organizations to build community, and provide those in need with period supplies to work towards menstrual equity and an end to period poverty.
About the Menstrual Equity Education Program:
Free Periods Canada partners with other non-profit organizations to offer workshops on various topics related to menstrual health, including the ME102 and ME102 workshops. Menstrual Equity 101 (ME101) is an interactive, engaging workshop designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to drive change in their community. Menstrual Equity 102 (ME102) equips educators and youth service providers with the tools, activities, and resources needed to effectively teach youth about menstrual equity. The goal of this workshop is to build capacity among those working with young people, enabling them to confidently deliver meaningful lessons and engage in informed, impactful discussions about menstrual health
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- At least one year of experience facilitating workshops, trainings, or educational sessions, ideally within a non-profit, community-based, youth-serving, or advocacy-focused setting.
- Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to create engaging, inclusive, and stigma-free learning environments for participants of diverse ages, genders, and backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt facilitation approaches based on participants’ needs, learning styles, and levels of prior knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present information clearly, lead discussions, and respond to questions with sensitivity and accuracy.
- Availability to travel occasionally within Vancouver to deliver in-person workshops.
Nice to Have
- Preference will be given to candidates who will be based in Vancouver from March 2026 to March 2027 to fulfill workshop delivery objectives.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages, is preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with non-profit organizations, feminist activist groups, or community advocacy work is a plus.
Compensation:
- This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $30/hour, 10 hours per week
- Non-linear workdays and flexible work hours are offered, allowing for a degree of flexibility in the work schedule
- Paid week off in August 24-28, 2026 and January 4-8, 2027
